After a long day?s work, a person would trade anything to get back to his home at the comfort of his bed. Indeed, a home is a haven, a welcoming sight for tired minds, eyes, sore limbs and bruised spirit. Literally, a feng shui house is there to ensure that comfort will always be there. Such is accomplished simply by putting greens in the form of plants and trees, keeping a manicured, uncluttered front and backyard, a curving pathway leading to the main door of the house and a water feature. This has something to do with bringing in positive chi or energy to your exterior and interior living spaces.
A feng shui house is best located in a community that is peaceful preferably on a slope or across an expanse like a park. The plot of land should be higher than the road to allow the chi to flow. A house on a hill or steep slope will be open to strong winds that shall disperse the chi, instead of slowing it down to gather and accumulate. Further, being on a slope offers danger to the dwellers because of its susceptibility to landslides.
A feng shui house interiors must provide free-flowing passages to allow the gentle flow of positive energy. The addition of windows and feng shui colors will usher harmony as natural lights come in and as the desired moods are well-created. In general, a feng shui house is orderly and comfortable to all with well-placed spaces. The living area is a center for gathering and the dining area should be in a corner of the room with easy access to the kitchen. The location of the stove must be in a place that is not facing the entry or doorway. It will not be good feng shui to put a stove and sink alongside each other as they represent the elements of fire and water. Bedrooms and bathrooms should be located somewhere in the rear for security and privacy.
Keeping harmony as well as balance in mind and depicting such in one?s surroundings would surely revitalize one?s spirit and energize one?s well-being.
